One of my favorite things to do while I’m riding the train to and from the office or taking a breather at work is to scroll through my Instagram feed. What can I say, I’m a millennial. So, today I wanted to share a few of the Instagram accounts I follow obsessively and love seeing on my feed. Take a look below! And don’t forget to check back – I had so much trouble deciding which accounts to highlight that I’m sure there will be a part two to this list coming soon!
Elias Weiss Friedman, a.k.a. The Dogist
How could anyone say no to puppies (and the occasional cat, goat, or pig) on their Instagram feed? I certainly can’t. Primarily featuring photos of dogs he comes across in his travels, this Instagram feed from brand manager-turned-photographer Elias Weiss Friedman somehow manages to perfectly encapsulate the personality and spirit of each of the dogs being photographed. And, having worked with Elias in the past, I can personally attest to not only his skill with a camera, but also his genuine love for dogs. Keep an eye out for his new book, The Dogist Puppies, which is coming in September 2017!
You may know Genevieve Padalecki (née Cortese) from her starring role as Kris Furrillo on ABC’s Wildfire or her guest role as the second incarnation of the demon, Ruby, on the CW’s long-running series Supernatural (she married Supernatural and Gilmore Girls star, Jared Padalecki, in 2010). I’ve been a huge fan of Gen for a long time, and I’m so excited that since February, she’s been using Instagram to give us glimpses into the Austin, TX life she shares with Jared, their two adorable boys, Tom and Shep, and their baby daughter, Odette (pictured above). Make sure you also check out Gen’s new lifestyle blog, Now & Gen, which launched in June!
Kirstie is a Canadian law student and blogger who lives a “vintage-inspired” lifestyle and looks fabulous doing it. I always look forward to seeing her latest outfit and am obsessed with her makeup – girl’s eyeliner is fierce. But what I love even more is that, despite her very styled aesthetic, Kirstie isn’t afraid to share photos of herself with un-done hair and no makeup. She’s found her look and her style but is ultimately completely comfortable in her own skin, and I really, really admire that. I also really want to raid her closet.
I love food. I love to look at food, I love to cook food, I love to eat food. I don’t have a problem, why do you ask? But seriously, I do love the video-only food brand, Well Done, from media company, Time, Inc. This Instagram account features short, cute videos driving to creative, interesting, and downright delicious-looking recipes. I have a whole collection of their recipes saved on my Instagram that I can’t wait to try out (especially the ahi tuna cups above)! Maybe we’ll try a few of their recipes in future posts – check some out and let us know if there are any you’d like to see.
Because you can never have enough adorable animals on your feed! Christine Nendick of The Rescue Runway is a Chicago fashion and lifestyle blogger with a mission – to help shelter pets find their forever homes. I love seeing Christine’s fabulous style on my Instagram feed almost as much as I love seeing the shelter pets she spotlights (and occasional cameos from her adorable kitties, Roni and Cheese). Best of all, Christine shares updates when featured pets have been adopted! Check out a feature on Christine and The Rescue Runway from the Chicago Tribune to learn more about her!
